About The Sage on the Mountain
Sage on the Mountain was created after a group of busy Londoners had a life-changing experience in the Far East. While on a trip, they met a wise sage who introduced them to a special blend of mushrooms that helped them reduce stress and feel more energized. After returning home, they wanted to share this natural remedy with others.
The Supreme 10 Mushroom Blend is made from 10 different mushrooms, each chosen for its health benefits. This blend is designed to help people feel more energetic, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. The mushrooms are carefully processed to make sure they’re as effective as possible.
Sage on the Mountain is all about helping people live healthier, more balanced lives. The goal is to provide a simple and natural way for everyone to feel their best, no matter how busy life gets.
What the Client Needed
The client, a UK-based supplement brand, sought a highly interactive and visually unique website to support the launch of their mushroom-based supplement product. Their vision extended beyond a standard eCommerce experience—they wanted to create a story-driven, immersive brand world that reflected the mystical and motivational essence of the product.
Key requirements included:
- A fully animated website with custom illustrations.
- Subtle motion effects to bring the brand’s Sage character and its world to life.
- A Shopify-powered eCommerce platform for seamless transactions.
- AI-powered chatbot for answering customer inquiries about ingredients and benefits.
- A dedicated mini-game (inspired by the 2048 game) themed around mushroom combinations.
The challenge was to integrate highly custom animations and UI elements while maintaining a fast and responsive user experience.
How We Approached the Problem
To bring this vision to life, we worked closely with the client’s illustrator and animation team. The website was carefully designed to blend dynamic illustrations with smooth interactivity. Some of the core solutions included:
Seamless Page Flow:
Instead of conventional sections, the site’s layout was designed as one continuous illustrated world. Users scroll through a vibrant journey rather than clicking through separate pages.
Micro-Animations & GIFs:
We used Lottie animations and custom GIFs to animate small elements (e.g., blinking creatures, floating Sage, moving mushrooms) without compromising site speed.
AI Chatbot Integration:
Instead of a standard customer service chat, we embedded a Sage-themed chatbot using GPT-powered AI, allowing users to ask questions about the product’s benefits, origins, and ingredients.
Custom Shopify Development:
Shopify was selected as the eCommerce platform, with modifications to support the animated theme while ensuring a smooth checkout experience.
Game Integration:
We embedded a web-based mushroom-matching puzzle game, directly accessible from the site, to increase engagement and brand recall.
